Soorathep Kheawhom is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He received Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in chemical engineering at Chulalongkorn University in 1997 and then started his first job there for two years (1997-1999). After that, he spent five years in Japan for Master and Ph.D. courses under the guidance of Prof. Masahiko Hirao. He received Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2004. Since then he joined the Department of Chemical Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.

His current research focuses on zinc-based batteries such as zinc-air, zinc-ion, and zinc-iodines batteries.
